From the storyteller’s desk

Meet Professor Cornbread.

Professor Cornbread here. Yes, Cornbread. No, you haven’t stumbled into a cookbook.

I like stories about the little moments that turn into big adventures. A classroom door. A new friend. That feeling you get when you’re not quite sure what comes next.

I started Loud Little Books to share that excitement with more children. I want them to look forward to opening a book, discovering new stories, meeting new characters, and enjoying reading without feeling like it’s another task to complete.

Bring your curiosity. I’ll bring the stories.

They’re the same book. The Regular Paperback ($19.99) is unsigned. The Limited Signed Paperback ($24.99) is personally hand-signed by Professor Cornbread and available in limited quantity. Neither includes a child’s name; that personalization is only in the Welcome Box. Both include one downloadable activity and free eligible standard shipping.

What makes the Welcome Box personalized?

The book is personally signed by Professor Cornbread with a handwritten inscription using your child’s first or preferred name, and the printed Room 205 Student ID and “Miles Believes in You” note card carry the same name. Those three items arrive in the box. It also includes five downloadable activities, which are digital and emailed separately, and free eligible standard shipping.

Our Creative Process

Were the illustrations in Miles Finds Adventure created using artificial intelligence?

Yes. The illustrations in Miles Finds Adventure: First Day in Room 205 were created using NeoLemon, an AI illustration platform.

Professor Cornbread developed the story, characters, and creative vision for the book. He directed the illustration process, reviewed and revised the generated images, and created the book’s layout to ensure that each illustration supported the story.

While the illustrations were generated using artificial intelligence, the storytelling, creative direction, and arrangement of the book were guided by Professor Cornbread.

We believe in honesty and transparency in publishing, including giving credit where credit is due.

Why did you choose to use AI for the illustrations?

As an independent publisher, we had to carefully consider our budget for every aspect of producing the book.

Creating a children’s book requires a significant financial investment, and hiring a professional illustrator can represent a substantial portion of that budget.

Rather than allowing financial limitations to prevent Miles’s story from being published, we explored available resources that would allow us to maintain our creative vision and bring the book to life.

Our decision was based on budget and accessibility, not speed or a lack of appreciation for the work of professional illustrators.

Do you support professional illustrators?

Absolutely.

We recognize and appreciate the creativity, talent, and dedication that professional illustrators bring to children’s literature.

We want children to appreciate artistic expression in its many forms and recognize the people and careers behind the creative process.

We also understand that artificial intelligence raises important questions about artistic ownership, fair compensation, and the future of creative professions.

We believe technology can create new opportunities, but those opportunities should be explored thoughtfully and with consideration for the people whose work and livelihoods may be affected.

Will your future books use AI illustrations?

The creative process at Loud Little Books will continue to evolve as we grow.

We look forward to expanding our creative collaborations, including opportunities to work with professional illustrators and other creative professionals on future projects.

Our decisions will continue to reflect the needs of each story, our available resources, and our commitment to providing meaningful books for young readers.

Our Commitment

At Loud Little Books, we believe every story deserves an opportunity to be told, and how we bring those stories to life matters.

We are committed to responsible publishing, transparency, and creating books that encourage children to explore, imagine, and find their voices.

As technology and the creative world continue to evolve, we will remain open to learning, thoughtful conversations, and new opportunities while respecting the people whose creativity makes storytelling possible.
